First, a little background on being a new pet parent. A few years ago, when COVID suddenly entered our lives and the first lockdown began, my husband and I joined an animal-loving community to help feed Indie’s dogs on the streets. And that’s how we found a very cute pack of puppies lost in the park without their mother. They were only a few weeks old and we took turns feeding them. One of them was a strong and playful puppy, and one of our friends immediately named him Raju, because it was our favorite dog name.
Raju grew rougher by the day and soon became the cheerful yet powerful Alpha of the pack. Unfortunately, tragedy struck and the six-month-old child was beaten by some rescuers in the night, breaking his back. Raju, the smartest boy, was half blind and in a lot of pain – most vets told us to put him down. Finally one of them agreed to the surgery and we brought him home, hoping that one day he would be able to walk and run like normal dogs. However, two years later, he can stand and walk a little, is still semi-ambulatory and has complaints, but runs in a wheelchair that she bought for him. Raju is a traveler who has been to beaches and jungles and is now on a wonderful vacation in the mountains. Her younger brother, Aishu, who has always been there, started visiting us in the last few months and this trip was her first trip away from home.
