Singapore has a enviable location, being a short 1-3 hour flight from most of Southeast Asia. Having spent most of my life in the isolated countries of New Zealand and Australia, I always get stuck in Singapore on weekends and catch public holidays.

Hoi An is one of the most beautiful ancient cities in Southeast Asia, and is surrounded by lush nature and tropical beaches. Plus the Vietnamese food is to die for! It is a 2 hours and 45m direct flight from Singapore to Da Nang Airport. Hoi An is an easy 45-minute drive from Da Nang Airport.

In short: wander around the beautiful old town, explore the countryside by bike (we love our Heaven and Earth Tour), go to the beach, join a cooking class or street food tour (we love the Hoi An Street Food Tour by motorbike Like), and make clothes.
Don’t forget to reserve Vietnamese street food and local specialties in Hoi An! My favorites are the pork baguette mi (try Banh Mi Queen Madam Khan), white rice dumplings, and crispy sweets (try Miss Le Café). My mouth is watering just writing this. Wash it down with wine at the white marble bar while you explore the old town.
My favorite area to stay in Hoi An is a short walk or bike ride from Hoi An’s atmospheric old town. I want to be close to work, but not so close that you can’t sleep because of the noise!

It is located in a quiet location overlooking the river and is only a 10-minute bike ride from the ancient town of Hoi An.

Hyatt Regency Da Nang: If you want to stay right on the beach, the Hyatt Regency Da Nang Resort & Spa is a more luxurious resort-style option on a beautifully tranquil stretch of white-sand beach. Da Nang is a bit far from Hoi An, so it’s a good option for beach bums who just want to pop into the Old Town for a day or a night or two at the end of a long trip.
Ho Chi Minh City (also known as Saigon) is a vibrant – if slightly chaotic – concrete jungle where you can discover a fascinating history and eat some of the best street food in Vietnam. Ho Chi Minh City is an easy 2-hour direct flight from Singapore, making it a great weekend trip from Singapore!
Spend a day exploring District 1, where you’ll find most of Ho Chi Minh City’s top attractions. Step back in time at the Independence Palace (completed in the 1970s!), prepare for a history lesson at the War Remnants Museum, and check out beautiful colonial architecture like the House of the People’s Council, Notre Dame Cathedral, and the Post Office.
For all the foodies out there, go on a street food tour to sample the best food Ho Chi Minh City has to offer – just come prepared with an empty stomach! Pair it with a drink at one of the city’s best rooftop bars, like the Hotel Majestic overlooking the river or the MGallery Hotel des Arts Saigon overlooking the city.

If you want to spread out, you can’t beat the Park Hyatt Saigon, a beautiful French-colonial-style hotel right in the middle of Ho Chi Minh’s best attractions. The only problem is that you won’t want to leave this amazing hotel!
Mid-Range – Algon d’Antique Hotel & Spa: Ho Chi Minh City has excellent boutique hotels at good values. Check out Hotel Alagon d’Antique for a beautiful boutique hotel with French colonial touches, just a short walk from the main District 1 attractions.

Temple, temple and more temple! I’ve seen many temples in my time, and the temples of Angkor are contenders for the most impressive historic buildings in Asia. Singapore to Siem Reap is a 2h 15m direct flight. Easy!
Temples: Of course, the best thing to do in Siem Reap is to visit the amazing Angkor Wat temple complex. My favorites are Angkor Wat, the famous temples of Angkor Thom/Bayon and Ta Prohm, the small but beautiful Banteay Srei and the quiet group of Rolos. As a bonus, check out Preah Khan and Preah Roop. The best way to visit the temples is to hire a tuk tuk and feel the wind (warm humidity) in your hair.
Other Activities: Once you’re done, visit the historical sites of Wat Thami (a small monument with historical information) and the interesting Angkor National Museum, or relax at one of the beautiful day spas.
Luxury – Shinta Mani: For a little luxury, stay at Shinta Mani Hut. Shinta Mani is a boutique hotel with traditional black and white interiors, excellent service and a large swimming pool surrounded by peaceful gardens. It’s a short walk from Pub Street restaurants and an easy tuk-tuk ride to the temples.

Less – Cyclo d’Angkor: Siem Reap has many budget accommodations. If your flashpack budget is bigger, check out the Cyclo d’Angkor Boutique Hotel. I stayed at the Cyclo d’Angkor Siem Reap for a budget hotel, and we were very happy to find a boutique hotel. One. Small pool and restaurant. The Cyclo d’Angkor is a short tuk tuk ride from the temples of Angkor Wat and Siem Reap city.
Bali is a well-known travel destination, but with good reason. It has everything you need for a quiet and easy beach holiday and there are plenty of activities to keep you entertained outside the beach. The direct flight from Singapore to Bali is 2 hours 40 minutes. There are many daily flights from Singapore to Bali with airlines including Jetstar, Singapore Airlines, Scoot, KLM, Air Asia and Garuda Indonesia.
My favorite things to do in Bali are exploring the rice fields in Ubud, visiting Balinese temples (Uluwatu Temple and Tanah Lot by the sea are especially beautiful), eating seafood on the beach at Jimbaran Bay, relaxing And the traditional beach has to be seen. People. Bar, and raised him in a villa.
Bali is also a great place for foodies and socialites. In Seminyak, some old favorites are Motel Mexicola, Potato Head Beach Club, Vu Bar at the W Hotel, any local warung (restaurant) for ku de ta or satay and nasi goreng.

If you’re up for a challenge (and ridiculously early in the morning), climb Mount Batur on the east side. The eastern views are incredible, if you’re willing to share them with hundreds of other hikers.
Bali may be an island, but it is huge and it takes hours to drive around the island. Traffic in Bali can also be quite busy and incredibly slow. For a weekend trip to Bali, I like to stay in an area within about an hour of the airport, usually Seminyak for easy access to beaches, nightlife and shopping. Some of my favorites are:
Luxe – Double-Six Seminyak: Loved your stay at the luxurious Double-Six Hotel in Seminyak during your solo trip to Bali. The hotel is wonderful, the pool is comfortable, the al-a-carte breakfast is good, and the location of the beach is nice and safe.
