After years of exploring New England with my dog, I’ve compiled my favorite dog-friendly vacation destinations. With plenty of options for hotels, restaurants and things to do for dogs, these dog-friendly travel ideas will have your pooch going for both paws. Dog Friendly Places In Florida
Burlington, Vermont is one of New England’s most dog-friendly destinations. With incredible outdoor adventures and a modern, relaxed downtown, Burlington is a playground for dogs and their friends. You’ll find lots of fun things to do with your pup. Bike the Burlington Greenway along the shores of Lake Champlain, then stop to sample local beer at one of the city’s many dog-friendly breweries. Burlington brewpubs that allow patio chicken include Foam Brewers and Zero Gravity Craft Brewery. Places like Switchback Brewing Co even allow dogs inside. Church Street Marketplace, one of New England’s most famous pedestrian (and dog)-friendly malls, has many dog-friendly restaurants and malls. For a pet-friendly stay, Made Inn Vermont, a charming inn within walking distance of downtown, offers a comfortable home away from home for you and your dog.

With miles of pristine coastline, irresistible laid-back appeal, and countless outdoor activities, Cape Cod is the perfect summer destination for humans and dogs alike. You will definitely enjoy visiting Cape Cod National Seashore. These sunny beaches and trails allow dogs to be leashed, even during high season. Then quench your thirst at Provincetown Brewing Company. They’re so dog-friendly (and socially conscious) that there’s even a dog kennel in the beer garden with a sign that says “I’m chasing racism.” There are also plenty of pet-friendly places to stay on the Cape. Pamper your pooch at the luxurious Chatham Bars Inn or try dog-friendly camping at Nickerson State Park.

For the big adventurer, Smuggler’s Notch State Park offers miles of trails through a stunning section of the Green Mountains. For something a little more modest (but just as fun), you and your dog will love walking the Stowe Recreation Trail. This 18-mile paved road is lined with dog-friendly restaurants and breweries. There are also plenty of dog-friendly accommodations in the area to suit all budgets. Luxury resorts such as Trapp Family Lodge, Topnotch Resort and Lodge at Spruce Peak provide excellent facilities. Follow trails like the Precipice Trail, Champlain Mountain & Beehive Loop Trail and Gorham Mountain Trail. Campgrounds like Blackwoods and Seawall allow overnight visits from pets. Just outside the National Park boundary is Little Long Pond, a 1,000-acre park where dogs can run free.
There is a restaurant inside the park and good news: pets are welcome! Guests at Acadia National Park have been lining up for spectacular views and pop-ups at the Jordan Pool House since 1893.
